The Inside Story Behind the
CBO Foundation and Founder
The CBO Foundation, is a Hawaiian non-profit organization founded by Peter "The AngelPreneur" Ortmann, also known as (aka) The Shark by associates, and his AngelPreneur Venture Group (APVG), a privately-held Hawaiian Venture Development Firm.
Our programs and initiatives are operated by CBO Worldwide, our for-profit unit and a joint venture partnership with APVG. It is overseen and managed by The Shark, who developed all our programs, which collectively represent many years of planning, research and ongoing refinement.
In 2003, The Shark, an offshore sailor who grew up along the California coast, later sailing the Caribbean and Islands in the South Pacific, set out to address the global ocean plastic waste issues head on. He recognized that a true global crisis was in the making!
To address the issues he set out to build a number of diversified for-profit businesses that could self-fund his non-profit initiatives and programs long-term. This efforts grew into the Mother of All Start-ups and a podcast series to promote them.
Getting to this point has cost millions of dollars and incurred many
set-backs. However, these experiences have been integrated into a new winning strategy supported by internet technologies that were not available when The Shark first started his journey in 2003.
The CBO Foundation will operate as a stand-alone organization that uses its proceeds to provide funding grants to help ocean focused groups, beach clean-up projects and filmmakers fund their projects to further drive the ocean issue awareness messages

We are a public charity ( a 501(c)3) U.S. Federal tax exempt organization, and accept private and corporate contributions in cash and Bitcoin crypto-currency. Although much has transpired over the years, the waste crisis has only grown larger under the global Covid nightmare. Our integrated approach to communicating and addressing the ocean waste and other issues remains disruptive by design.
Our goal is to make the CBO Foundation the next iconic environmental ocean-focused brand. Never-the-less,
it will require millions of people worldwide to take action and participate to drive effective change. Solving the global single-use plastic packaging waste crisis will be anything but easy. However, it is a crisis we must all help solve, and we welcome you aboard in that effort.
As Joel A. Barker, an American Author was once quoted "Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without Vision just passes time. Vision with action can change the world." Let's get started!
"Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the
troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs. We agree with Steve!
