The Inside Story Behind the
CBO Foundation and Founder
The CBO Foundation, together with its Signature Sponsor the AngelPreneur Venture Group (APVG), a privately-held Venture Development Firm, collectively represents many years of planning, research, design, refinement and ongoing development by our founder Peter "The AngelPreneur" Ortmann, aka: The Shark (in logo), or Petey, as his friends and close associates refer to him.
In 2003, The Shark, an offshore sailor who grew up along the California coast, and later sailed the Caribbean and Islands in the South Pacific, set out to address the global ocean plastic waste issues head on. He recognized that a true global crisis was in the making!
To address the issue he first built an onlineTravel Club business model, which consisted of a number of diversified for-profit businesses laced within some of his initial non-profit projects and initiatives. That initial attempt failed due to the fact his vision was too large and confusing to some, plus well ahead of its time.
The Shark shares more about those initial challenges and experiences in his upcoming web Series set to start in late spring 2020. Most of his original programs and initiatives survived multiple refinements over the years and along with several new ones have been added into our new list objectives.
This website represents merely a snapshot or blueprint of sorts from what the CBO Foundation non-profit programs and initiatives are and how they were designed to work seamlessly with his APVG for-profit businesses. How they
will accomplish our collective goals and objectives to address the ocean issues.
Getting to this point has cost millions of dollars and incurred many set-backs. However, these experiences have been integrated into a new winning strategy supported by internet technologies that were not available when when The Shark first started his journey in 2003.
The CBO Foundation will operate as a stand-alone non-profit organization, supported by APVG as its Signature Partner, plus the support of its corporate and individual sponsors and advertisers. Once it has more clearly defined its core project needs, we will obtain 501(c)3 US Federal tax exempt status (expected late2020), to help fund them and other issues that impact our oceans.
Although much has transpired over the years, the waste crisis has grown much larger than The Shark though possible, his integrated approach to communicating and addressing the waste issue today remains disruptive by design. His large-scale vision and entertainment marketing strategy for APVG is the DNA that will make the CBO Foundation the next iconic environmental ocean-focused organization of our time.
Success, never-the-less, will require millions of people worldwide to take action and participate in the waste solution. We believe "nothing worth having ever comes easy," and solving the global single-use plastic packaging waste crisis will be anything but easy. However, it is a crisis we must all help solve, and we welcome you aboard in that effort.
As Joel A. Barker, an American Author was once quoted "Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without Vision just passes time. Vision with action can change the world." Let's get started!
"Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs
