The Inside Story Behind the
CBO Foundation and Founder
The CBO Foundation, is a Hawaiian non-profit organization founded by Peter "The AngelPreneur" Ortmann, aka: The Shark or Petey as he is known by family and associates, and his AngelPreneur Venture Group (APVG), a privately-held Wyoming "Family Office" Management and Venture Development Firm.
Collectively, our programs and initiatives managed by Mr. Ortmann's CBO Worldwide, represent many years of planning, research, design, and ongoing refinement by The Shark.
In 2003, The Shark, an offshore sailor who grew up along the California coast, later sailing the Caribbean and Islands in the South Pacific, set out to address the global ocean plastic waste issues head on. He recognized that a true global crisis was in the making!
To address the issues he set out to build a number of diversified for-profit businesses that could self-fund his non-profit initiatives and programs long-term. This efforts grew into the Mother of All Start-ups and a podcast series to promote them.
Getting to this point has cost millions of dollars and incurred many
set-backs. However, these experiences have been integrated into a new winning strategy supported by internet technologies that were not available when The Shark first started his journey in 2003.
The CBO Foundation will operate as a stand-alone organization that uses its proceeds to exclusively provide funding grants to help ocean focused groups and filmmakers fund their own projects to further drive the ocean issue awareness messages
We are NOT currently a 501(c)3 U.S. Federal tax exempt organization, however, we plan to be by the end of 2021. Our global BitCoin or BitCoin Cash donors are not eligible for tax donations, but we thank them all for their ongoing support.
Although much has transpired over the years, the waste crisis has only grown much larger under the global Covid nightmare. Our integrated approach to communicating and addressing the waste issue today remains disruptive by design, as we become part of The Shark's large-scale vision and entertainment marketing strategy.
Success, and making the CBO Foundation the next iconic environmental ocean-focused brand of our time.
Never-the-less, it will require millions of people worldwide to take action and participate to drive any effective change. Our Founder, like Walt Disney, believes "If You Can Dream It - You Can Build It", and that "nothing worth having ever comes easy" .
Solving the global single-use plastic packaging waste crisis will be anything but easy. However, it is a crisis we must all help solve, and we welcome you aboard in that effort. As Joel A. Barker, an American Author was once quoted "Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without Vision just passes time. Vision with action can change the world." Let's get started!
"Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the
troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs. We agree with Steve!
