The Clear Blue Oceans Foundation

The CBO Foundation, is a Hawaiian 501 c (3) tax-exempt non-profit organization developed by Peter "The AngelPreneur" Ortmann, also known as (aka) Petey or The Shark by close associates. It was founded by his privately-held Hawaiian Venture Development Firm AngelPreneur Venture Group (APVG), Both were incorporated in Hawaii in 2019 with the intention of one day operating on the Island of Maui.

Our programs and initiatives have taken many directions since then, and thanks to the global Covid pandemic, derailed our initial objectives. Life has greatly changed since 2020 and in early 2023 we looked once again at how best to launch our growing issue awareness programs.

The Shark, 68, being the retired social entrepreneur who developed all of our programs, and a list of socially responsible APVG businesses. All sat on the launch paid through Covid, and have now been refined and are once again ready to move forward. His wife of 28 years, Corrin, runs the foundation day to day activities.

Together Corrin and The Shark, both offshore sailors who grew up on the Central California coast, later sailing the Caribbean and Islands in the South Pacific, set out to address the ocean plastic waste issues head on. They recognized a true global crisis was unfolding and through many years of planning, research and ongoing refinement they formed their self-funded CBO Foundation.

The initial goal was to address the issues that impacted our oceans, but that goal grew as issues like geoengineering of our weather, and toxic agricultural discharges into the oceans surfaced. To address them The Shark and his team set out to build a number of diversified purpose-driven for-profit businesses that could self-fund non-profit initiatives and programs long-term

Those efforts grew into the Mother of All Start-up projects that is now underway. Getting to this point has taken thousands of hours of work, and cost close to two million dollars, incurred many set-backs and failures. However, these experiences have been integrated into a new combined winning strategy supported by technologies that were not available when The Shark first started his journey in 2003.

As a Hawaiian public charity (a 501(c)3)  we can accept private and corporate contributions in cash (via Zelle), by check, wire or  Bitcoin crypto-currency. The waste crisis has only grown larger under the global Covid nightmare, and several new issues have caught our attention . Our integrated approach to communicating and addressing all of them remain disruptive by design.

Our goal is to make the CBO Foundation an iconic environmental multi-issue brand. Never-the-less, it will require many thousands of dollars and hard working people to take action and participate for us to drive effective change in the issues we address.

Our Founders Pete & Corrin

Solving the single-use plastic packaging waste crisis or ensuring access to clean water to all will be anything but easy. However, they are the crisis of our time and we must all help solve them. Charity must start at home first and often on a local basis,. We intend to do so with the support of our donors and partners.

As Joel A. Barker, an American Author was once quoted "Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without Vision just passes time. Vision with action can change the world."   Let's get started!

"Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the

troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of

rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You

can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because

they change things. They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see

genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think

they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

– Steve Jobs.  We agree with Steve!
