Household Plastic Products
Let's not kid ourselves - we all consume products like the ones shown on this web page in our daily lives. A trip to your local food market is all you need to verify that single-use plastic packaging is everywhere. In fact, we can't escape buying something in plastic. Once we get them home, much of this packaging ends up in the waste stream.
That having being said, the CBO Foundation, nor its founder, are not an Anti-Plastic group of environmentalists. We do not place blame on anyone - not the food brands, retailers or even consumers. We have simply been brainwashed to believe that plastic packaging is better because it reduces freight costs, and thereby carbon emissions.
Although partially true on one level, like most storylines fed us by politicians, governments and brands, it's really about profits. As a result, more products have been placed into plastic packaging as a result, with little or any thought of what the actual impacts are to our oceans, landfills or health.
Increasing awareness of these issues is our primary mission. To create the outrage lacking on this issue and get our cookies and cakes back into paper bags, paper boxes and out of the plastic clamshells that last 500 years.
We acknowledge that plastic packaging offers many real benefits, but we also feel we MUST reduce its use of some single-use plastic packaging and manage the remaining waste we generate better. On the surface that would seem practical and easy to do - but its not.
Simply put - most consumers don't give a crap and feel plastic waste is not an issue, or certainly not their problem. But is is! It's everyones problem and it's growing.
The CBO Foundation, is determined to help those who don't get it, pull their heads out of the sand and better understand the issues. Then work together to affect a meaningful change in how all sides buy, package and reclaim this waste.
This waste issue has grown into a global crisis. We may not solve the entire problem, but we must reduce future waste and manage the waste already deposited into our local landfills and oceans worldwide better. That challenge can and MUST be met.
A recent UN Report, which can be downloaded from our home page, states that assuming the current plastic product production and current waste trends continue, by 2050 we will have over 12 Billion Tons of plastic in our environment (including Landfills and oceans). These trends MUST be reversed!
We believe many products should be packaged "back into" glass containers and bottles, or paper bags and boxes. However, the only way that will happen is if we collectively drive the waste messages and necessary changes needed to get both the manufacturers and retailers to rethink their plastic packaging policies. We can and will accomplish this in time with your help.

In the meantime, we must all become aware of and educate others about this waste crisis, and review the products we use each day. This page offers some information to help and we ask that you share our website with others whenever possible.

The next time you visit your local food market take a look around. You will discover what most people simply assume is normal use of plastic packaging of products that our food comes in, is really part of a global waste crisis. After people understand the lasting damage these products create, it will forever change how they view plastic packaging in the future.
One of the most common plastic waste products is water, soda and juice bottles. Today, we even see wine and alcohol in plastic bottles.
Another major leader within the plastic waste category are those plastic clam shells or boxes. You'll find cookies, sushi, salads, sandwiches and other items in them. We hope to change this.
The most popular recycled plastic waste product is the heavy High Density plastic like milk cartons, dairy products and common lids.
Our pill tubes and vitamin bottles can add up to a mountain of trash. Protein power and related large plastic jugs can and should be reused for something?
A growing list of produce is being placed in fish killing net-bags, and food retailers are even wrapping single apples and potatoes onto Styrofoam plates!
Most meats come placed on Styrofoam trays, which is also used in all sorts of packaging from TV's to take-out food, coffee and misc. This must end!
The growth of e-commerce giants like Amazon, have generated a new level of plastic bubble waste, often found even on the inside of paper envelops.
From a plastic toothbrush to the plastic strapping on new products, from the razor to that pen or lighter, plastic stuff is all around us.
From that cereal bag inside the box, the chip bags to the popcorn or any number of other food products, plastic holds most things we eat.
